If you install the m2eclipse Plugin for the Maven Integration in Eclipse, this Error could possibly be shown in the Eclipse console:
Eclipse is running in a JRE, but a JDK is required
Some Maven plugins may not work when importing projects or updating source folders.
If you have this issue, you should edit your eclipse.ini and add the following lines (on a Windows System) :
-vm
C:\path\to\JDK\bin\javaw.exe
Now your Eclipse should use the JDK to run with and the m2eclipse plugin should be happy.
hab ich getan. aber dann kann ich eclipse nicht mehr öffnen :(.
Stattdessen bekomme ich folgende meldung:
Could not create the Java virtual machine.

Das kann viele Gründe haben. Zuerst einmal würde ich schauen, ob du Eclipse genügend Speicher zur Verfügung stellst. Wo genau hast du in der eclipse.ini das Parameter eingefügt? Hier ein Auszug aus meiner eclipse.ini

getan aber geht auch nicht.
ich nutzte eclipse 3.6 HELIOS, jdk1.6.0_20 und jre6.
und übrigens normal maven läuft bei mein betriebsystem windows 7.

Hm sehr komisches Verhalten deiner Eclipse Installation. Tritt das Problem bei einer frischen Eclipse Installation mit dem m2eclipse Plugin auch auf?
hallo! ich habe nochmal jre6 und jdk neu installiert und nochmal eclipse. danach gehts alles reibungslos~ aber schon komisch oder?
